Review: Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves done by Tianna Scott

Love can be a dangerous thing….

Hanna simply wants to be loved. With a head plagued by hallucinations, a medicine cabinet full of pills, and a closet stuffed with frilly, violet dresses, Hanna’s tired of being the outcast, the weird girl, the freak. So she runs away to Portero, Texas in search of a new home.

But Portero is a stranger town than Hanna expects. As she tries to make a place for herself, she discovers dark secrets that would terrify any normal soul. Good thing for Hanna, she’s far from normal. As this crazy girl meets an even crazier town, only two things are certain: Anything can happen and no one is safe.

REVIEW:

One day, I took a random trip to the bookstore on my lunch break. I had no idea what I planned to buy... just that i had some extra money and wanted to spend it on books. I asked the young lady what she recommended and she started raving about this book. Whats the point of this completely random bit of information you may ask? Well, never before had i bought a book solely on someone elses experience, but she seemed so excited about it... Said she loved it so much and it was the most original book she had read in ages. so obviously i bought it. Dia Reeves' debut novel was nothing like i had ever read before. Set in Portero, Texas, Reeves tells a story of monsters, insanity, and a girl searching for love.

As with her second book 'Slice of Cherry', There were parts in this book that made my stomach turn but I have never enjoyed another book as i enjoyed this one. I never knew what was happening next and even with all her obvious issues, Hanna (the main character) held my attention and kept me rooting for her until the very end. Shes an amazing character... so genuine and just... packed full of awesomeness. lol!

I recommend this book because theres nothing else (so far that ive read) out there like it! This book kept me up for 48 hours straight and I enjoyed it so much that i reread it within a few weeks. Infact... *chuckles*... Im going to reread it tonight.

 Happy reading guys!!!

5/5 Stars
